About Caboolture
Caboolture is a major urban centre in the City of Moreton Bay, 44 kilometres north of Brisbane, marking the northernmost extent of the greater Brisbane metropolitan area. The name derives from a local Aboriginal word meaning "place of the carpet snake". Established as a pastoral run in 1850 and a township in 1869, Caboolture sits on the North Coast railway line and is a gateway to the Sunshine Coast and the Glass House Mountains.
