About Pleystowe

Pleystowe is a rural locality in the Mackay Region of Queensland, about 21 km west of Mackay, bounded to the north by the Pioneer River. It is known for the Pleystowe Sugar Mill, built in 1870-71, which crushed cane for the district's raw sugar until it closed in 2009; only the mill's original chimney stack still stands.
