About Balnagowan

Balnagowan is a rural locality in the Mackay Region, Queensland, 20 kilometres west of Mackay along the Pioneer River. Named after the ancestral home of the Ross family in Scotland, the area was first settled in 1862 and today supports sugar cane growing and coal mining as its primary industries.
