About Hamilton Plains
Hamilton Plains is a rural locality in the Whitsunday Region of Queensland, situated on flat low-lying terrain just north of Proserpine. The area is almost entirely given over to sugarcane farming, with a network of cane tramways delivering harvested cane to the nearby Proserpine Sugar Mill. The Bruce Highway and the Proserpine–Shute Harbour Road both pass through the locality, providing connections to Airlie Beach and the Whitsunday Islands.
