About Crystal Brook (Qld)
Crystal Brook is a rural locality in the Whitsunday Region, approximately 15 kilometres west of Proserpine. The area was the site of the Crystal Brook Sugar Company, established in 1882 to pioneer sugarcane cultivation in the district, though the venture was short-lived. The surrounding landscape is characterised by eucalypt and acacia woodlands with sugar cane and grazing land along the Proserpine River floodplain.
