About South Maclean
South Maclean is a rural locality in the City of Logan, Queensland, located 42.8 kilometres south-southwest of the Brisbane central business district on the Mount Lindesay Highway. The Logan River forms part of the northern and southern boundaries and passes through the locality. In 1997 the former locality of Maclean was split into North and South Maclean, and in 2008 the area became part of Logan City following local government amalgamations. On 29 September 2017 South Maclean was extended eastward, taking land from the west of Jimboomba as part of creating new localities. The locality has a rural character with Maclean Park as a key recreation area.
