About Raceview

Raceview is a residential suburb about 3.5 km southeast of Ipswich CBD in Queensland's City of Ipswich. Named after an early racecourse established around 1850 where the North Australian Jockey Club held races, the area was originally a convict-era farm called "Plough Station" dating to 1828. The suburb is home to Raceview State School (opened 1901), the ruins of the Aberdere Extended Colliery and sits near the Cunningham Highway.
