About Jeebropilly
Jeebropilly, formerly known as Stone Quarry, is a rural locality in the City of Ipswich, Queensland, 17.6 km south-west of Ipswich and 55.6 km south-west of Brisbane. Its name comes from the Ugarapul word for flying squirrel gully. Bounded on the west and north by the Bremer River, it was the site of the Jeebropilly open-cut coal mine, the last of Ipswich's coal mines, which closed in 2019.
