About Glen Esk

Glen Esk is a rural locality in the Somerset Region of south-east Queensland, situated on the western shore of Lake Wivenhoe. Mount Esk rises to 444 metres in the north of the locality, named by pastoralists David Graham and James Ivory in 1843 after the Esk River in Scotland. The landscape consists of mountainous terrain in the north and open river valley country to the south, with cattle grazing as the predominant land use.
