About Murrumba

Murrumba is a rural locality in the Somerset Region of Queensland, about 59 km west of Brisbane. Its name combines Kabi words meaning 'good spirit' or 'good place'. Murrumba State School operated from 1910 to 1964 on Murrumba Road, part of which was later realigned when Lake Wivenhoe was created, and the lake now borders the locality.
