About Fassifern (Qld)

Fassifern is a rural locality in the Scenic Rim Region, Queensland, about 88 km south-west of the Brisbane CBD. Its name comes from a pastoral run established in 1846 by John Cameron and Macquarie McDonald, likely named for a place in Scotland. The Cunningham Highway runs through the locality, with Reynolds Creek and Warrill Creek forming its eastern and western boundaries. Land use is a mix of grazing on native vegetation and crop growing.
