About Calvert (Qld)
Calvert is a rural town about 29 kilometres west of Ipswich in the City of Ipswich, on the Main Line railway. Originally surveyed as the village of Alfred in 1854 on a coach route, it was renamed Calvert in 1931. Western Creek, a tributary of the Bremer River, runs through the locality, and the northern extent rises to 340 metres in the Little Liverpool Range.
