About Banks Creek
Banks Creek is a rural locality split between the City of Brisbane and the Somerset Region in Queensland, with the Brisbane River forming its south-western boundary. It takes its name from the creek of the same name, which flows into the river at Savages Crossing. A sawmill operated in the district from 1911, and in the 1930s Banks Creek became known for its high-quality Cavendish bananas.
