About Wonglepong
Wonglepong is a rural locality in the Scenic Rim Region, straddling a valley upstream where Canungra Creek joins the Albert River, about 20 kilometres east of Beaudesert. The name is Aboriginal in origin and the area was previously known as Sarah Vale, with a railway station operating on the Canungra line from 1915 to 1955. The heritage-listed QCWA Hall on Beaudesert-Nerang Road is a local landmark in this quiet, acreage-based community.
