About Canungra

Canungra is a rural town and locality in the Scenic Rim Region of South East Queensland, Australia, located 75 kilometres south of Brisbane in the Gold Coast hinterland. Known as the "Valley of the Owls", it serves as the gateway to Lamington National Park, including Binna Burra and O'Reilly's. It was a major timber town with Australia's largest softwood timber mill, and is home to the Kokoda Barracks, the Australian Army's jungle warfare training centre established in 1942.
