About Warkon
Warkon is a rural locality in the Maranoa Region of south-west Queensland, with the Balonne River forming its southern boundary. The name is an Aboriginal word meaning plenty of water, and the area has been used for cattle grazing since Warkon Station was established on the river in 1850.
