About Simmie

Simmie is a rural locality in the Maranoa Region of Queensland, 18.5 km north-east of Injune. The Carnarvon Highway passes through the locality. The name derives from the parish, likely named after George Simmie, a pastoralist who leased the Injune pastoral run in 1866. The land is used for grazing.
