About Plainby
Plainby is a rural locality in the Toowoomba Region of the Darling Downs, Queensland, situated approximately 44 kilometres north of Toowoomba and 11.5 kilometres west of Crows Nest. The area has a long agricultural history dating to the 19th century. Plainby Provisional School opened around 1889 and a United Methodist Church was built in 1900, reflecting the early settlement of the district.
