About Mount Irving
Mount Irving is a rural locality in the Toowoomba Region of the Darling Downs in Queensland, located about 39 kilometres west of Toowoomba and 22 kilometres southeast of Oakey. The landscape features Mount Irving rising to 463 metres above sea level, about 80 metres above the surrounding Darling Downs plain, with predominantly crop growing and some grazing on native vegetation. Named after Clark Irving, a pastoralist associated with the Warra pastoral run taken up in the 1840s, the mountain is a prominent local landmark on the otherwise flat Darling Downs plain with the Toowoomba-Cecil Plains Road passing through.
