About Motley
Motley is a small rural locality in the Shire of Coolgardie in the Goldfields-Esperance region of Western Australia, situated approximately 500 kilometres east of Perth in the Eastern Goldfields. The area is characterised by pastoral leases, gold mining and remnant mulga and eucalypt woodland on the flat to gently undulating red sandy soils. Motley lies within the broader Goldfields region, one of Australia's most sparsely populated areas, with the surrounding landscape featuring arid bushland, seasonal waterways and scattered mining operations.
