About Hampton (Qld)
Hampton is a small rural town on the Darling Downs in the Toowoomba Region, situated at the top of the Great Dividing Range escarpment about 32 kilometres north-north-east of Toowoomba. At over 700 metres above sea level, its rich volcanic soils and temperate climate support vegetable and fruit growing, with the area supplying much of Queensland's rhubarb and avocados. Hampton is known for its thriving arts community and the annual Hampton Festival celebrating regional food, wine and music.
