About Elphinstone (Toowoomba - Qld)
Elphinstone is a rural locality on the Darling Downs in the Toowoomba Region, situated approximately 5 kilometres south of Clifton and 51 kilometres south of Toowoomba. The locality features fertile agricultural land used for grain farming and mixed grazing. The name traces to a former railway station honouring pioneering pastoralist Ernest George Beck Elphinstone Dalrymple.
