About Kings Creek
Kings Creek is a rural locality in the Toowoomba Region of the Darling Downs, Queensland, situated between Nobby and Clifton along the Felton Clifton Road. Named after pastoralist Joseph King who held the Pilton and Clifton runs in the 1840s, the creek is a tributary of the Condamine River. The area has a history of significant fossil finds including a prehistoric jaw bone discovered in 1936 and a late Pleistocene Quinkana tooth found in 2013.
