About Cement Mills

Cement Mills is a rural locality on the Darling Downs in the Goondiwindi Region of Queensland, near the town of Gore. From 1916 the Queensland Cement and Lime Company quarried limestone in the district, and a cement mill and works gave the locality its name, with a post office operating from 1918 until the mill closed in 1937. The school building, moved to the mill site in 1937, is now used as a public hall.
