About Valentine Plains
Valentine Plains is a rural locality immediately east of Biloela in the Shire of Banana in central Queensland. Despite the name, the terrain is mountainous ranging from 180 to 860 metres in elevation, with Callide Creek and Lake Callide to the north and Kroombit Tops National Park to the south-east. The wreck of a World War Two B-24D Liberator named Beautiful Betsy, which crashed in 1945, was discovered in Kroombit Tops in 1994.
