About O'Connell (Qld)

O'Connell is an outer southern suburb of Gladstone on the Boyne River in the Gladstone Region. Named after Sir Maurice Charles O'Connell, Government Resident at Port Curtis from 1854 to 1859, the northern arm of the Boyne River estuary forms part of its eastern boundary. A boat ramp and floating walkway on the South Trees Inlet serve recreational users.
