About Dumgree
Dumgree is a rural locality in the Shire of Banana in Central Queensland, about 34 kilometres north-east of Biloela. The landscape features rolling hills and mountain ranges, with grazing on native vegetation the primary land use. The Dawson Highway passes through and coal and oil shale mining occurs in the south-west. The locality was named after a place in Dumfrieshire, Scotland, by early pastoralist John Saunders Bell.
