About Bauhinia

Bauhinia is a rural town in the Central Highlands Region of Queensland, on the Dawson Highway near its junction with the Fitzroy Developmental Road. Named after the bauhinia tree, a flowering tree and climber with orchid-like blossoms, the town sits in a pastoral and cropping district, with part of its locality falling within the neighbouring Aboriginal Shire of Woorabinda. The Robinson Gorge section of Expedition National Park, a sandstone gorge with cliffs up to 100 metres high, can be reached from the town.
