About North Johnstone
North Johnstone is a rural locality on the Atherton Tableland in Far North Queensland's Tablelands Region, bounded to the south by the North Johnstone River. Situated at around 700 metres elevation within the Wet Tropics bioregion, the area is characterised by native vegetation grazing, tropical rainforest, and fertile volcanic soils. Malanda is the nearest town, roughly 10 kilometres to the southwest, and Cairns lies about 73 kilometres to the north.
