About Ngatjan
Ngatjan is a rural locality in Far North Queensland, about 15 kilometres west of Innisfail, split between the Cassowary Coast and Cairns regional council areas. It is named after the Ngatjan people, the traditional Aboriginal owners of the area, and lies on the watershed between the Russell and North Johnstone rivers, with Suez and Waraker creeks draining either side of the divide. The locality is covered by dense tropical rainforest and sugar cane farmland and is virtually unpopulated.
