About Nerada
Nerada is a rural locality in the Cassowary Coast Region of Far North Queensland, approximately 28 kilometres south-west of Innisfail. The locality is bounded by the Johnstone River and includes part of Palmerston Rocks National Park. Nerada is best known as the home of Australia's largest commercial tea plantation, producing around 90 percent of domestically grown tea, and the name is believed to derive from an Aboriginal word meaning grass country.
