About Lumholtz
Lumholtz is a rural locality in the Cassowary Coast Region of Queensland, almost all of which lies within Girringun National Park, originally created as Lumholtz National Park in 1991. It is mountainous, with peaks including Mount Macalister at over 1,000 metres, and takes its name from Carl Lumholtz, a Norwegian traveller and anthropologist who worked in north-eastern Australia in the 1880s.
