About Mackenzie (Brisbane - Qld)

Mackenzie is a residential suburb in the City of Brisbane, Queensland, located 16.1 kilometres southeast of the Brisbane central business district in the Chandler Ward. Named Mackenzie and situated near Mount Petrie, the area is partially covered by undeveloped bushland and is predominantly residential with no shopping centres. Mount Petrie State School, now Mackenzie State Primary School, opened on 31 March 1955 and the Mount Gravatt Special School relocated to co-locate in the suburb on 21 September 2012. The ThreeSixteen Wesleyan Methodist Church serves Chinese, Samoan and Tongan congregations alongside the Gateway Baptist Church campus. Major roads include Mount Gravatt-Capalaba Road and the Gateway Motorway.
