About Albion (Brisbane - Qld)
Albion is an inner north-eastern suburb of Brisbane, Queensland, located 5 km from the CBD and bounded by Breakfast Creek. Its name derives from the Albion Hotel, established in 1864, which was named after white sandstone from Petrie's quarry. Heritage sites include the Breakfast Creek Hotel (1889), the Holy Triad Temple (1885-86), one of Australia's oldest Buddhist temples, and the Hampton Court flats (1938). Sandgate Road runs through the suburb, which also contains Albion Park Raceway and the Allan Border Field.
