About Point Lookout
Point Lookout is a small coastal town and locality on the eastern coast of North Stradbroke Island (Minjerribah) in Redland City, Queensland, and is the most easterly point of the state. The rocky headland was named by Captain James Cook in 1770, and the township grew after a lighthouse was built in 1932. Long a holiday destination, it is known for its beaches, headland walks and views over the Pacific Ocean.
