About Davenport (NT)
Davenport is a remote locality in the Barkly Region of the Northern Territory, named after the Davenport Range that explorer John McDouall Stuart named in 1860 for South Australian politician Samuel Davenport. It encompasses the Iytwelepenty / Davenport Ranges National Park, an area of rugged ranges and permanent waterholes that marks the boundary between the traditional lands of the Warumungu, Alyawarra and Kaytetye peoples.
