About Lurnea
Lurnea is a residential suburb 35 kilometres south-west of the Sydney CBD in the City of Liverpool. Originally called Hillview, it was renamed Lurnea, meaning 'a resting place', when converted to soldier settlement after World War I, and later became home to Vietnamese refugee families in the 1970s.
