About Liverpool

Liverpool is one of the oldest urban settlements in Australia, founded in 1810 by Governor Macquarie as an agricultural centre, located 31 kilometres south-west of the Sydney CBD on the Georges River. It serves as the administrative centre of the City of Liverpool and is a major multicultural hub, home to communities originally from Iraq, India, Vietnam and Fiji. Liverpool Hospital and the Western Sydney University campus are located in the suburb.
