About Pimlico (NSW)
Pimlico is a small rural locality along the lower Richmond River, about 15 kilometres north-west of Ballina in the Ballina local government area. The fertile floodplain with remnants of subtropical rainforest and freshwater wetlands developed from the mid-nineteenth century cedar-cutting era in the Big Scrub rainforest. The Widjabul Wia-bal people of the Bundjalung Nation are the traditional owners, and the Ballina and Districts Historical Museum is located in the locality.
