About Pimlico Island
Pimlico Island is a small island in the Richmond River on the far north coast of New South Wales, between the localities of Pimlico and Empire Vale near Wardell. It lies within the traditional country of the Bundjalung people and is one of several islands in the lower river. Nearby Little Pimlico Island is a nature reserve protecting wetlands and littoral rainforest of state significance, while the surrounding river flats are given over to sugar-cane farming.
