About Bohena Creek
Bohena Creek is a rural locality in the Narrabri Shire on the north-west slopes and plains of New South Wales, about 20 to 25 kilometres from Narrabri. The locality sits in open grazing and cropping country producing dryland wheat, cotton and beef cattle, within the Namoi River catchment. Bohena Creek itself is a tributary of the Namoi and flows through the Pilliga Forest, the largest remnant temperate woodland in eastern Australia. The creek and the broader Pilliga landscape hold major cultural and spiritual significance for the Gomeroi people.
