About Boggabilla

Boggabilla is a town in the far north of New South Wales, on the southern bank of the Macintyre River near the Queensland border, about 9 km from Goondiwindi. The name comes from a Gamilaraay word meaning full of creeks, and the town grew from a pastoral station formed in the 1840s, with allotments first sold in 1863. Fertile floodplain soils now support cotton and broadacre cropping and beef cattle.
