About Boonal
Boonal is a rural locality on the Moree Plains of northern New South Wales, about 40 kilometres south-east of Moree. The landscape consists of flat black soil plains country in the Gwydir River catchment, with rich alluvial Vertosol soils that are among Australia's most fertile dryland cropping soils. The area supports broadacre farming of cotton, wheat and chickpeas in one of the country's most productive agricultural regions, and the Gomeroi people are the traditional custodians of the land.
