About Allynbrook

Allynbrook is a historic village in the Allyn River valley of the Hunter region, in the Dungog Shire of New South Wales, about 225 kilometres north of Sydney. The area was settled around the Caergwrle estate taken up by William Boydell in 1836, and the St Mary-on-Allyn church, built in 1844, survives as a local landmark on the road towards the Barrington Tops wilderness.
