About Gongolgon
Gongolgon is a small rural locality in the Brewarrina Shire of northern New South Wales, on the Brewarrina-Coolabah road about 67 kilometres from Brewarrina. The area was home to the Yetta Dhinnakkal Centre, a minimum-security prison for young Indigenous men which operated from 2000 to 2020 and was often called Brewarrina jail. Gongolgon serves the surrounding pastoral and grazing district.
