About Upper Turon

Upper Turon is a rural locality in the Central Tablelands of New South Wales, along the upper reaches of the Turon River between Sofala and Hill End. The area was part of the 1851 Turon goldfield, one of Australia's first alluvial gold rushes, and remnants of the diggings, including a Chinese miner settlement, remain.
