About Majors Creek (NSW)

Majors Creek is a village in the Southern Tablelands of New South Wales, about 16 kilometres south of Braidwood. It grew as a gold-mining town after gold was found in the area around 1851, drawing thousands of diggers to its creeks and reefs. Mining continues today at the Dargues Reef gold mine, and the surrounding country is Walbanga land.
