About Campbellfield

Campbellfield is a mixed residential and industrial suburb of Melbourne, about 13 km north of the central business district in the City of Hume, on the Hume Highway beside Merri Creek. Named for two Campbell families who bought farm land there in the 1840s, it holds the heritage-listed Scots church (1855). From 1959 the Ford Australia assembly plant made it a major manufacturing centre until the factory closed in 2016.
