About Moondah

Moondah is a rural locality in the Western Australia Wheat Belt region, located about 79 kilometres north of Perth in the Shire of Gingin. The Moondah Homestead, built circa 1860 to 1880, is listed on the Western Australian State Register of Heritage Places and the Register of the National Estate, associated with William Locke Brockman, one of the first settlers in the Swan River Colony who arrived in 1830 and took up land in the Gingin area in 1841. Brockman established Ginginup Station breeding cattle and horses, and the homestead is described as a place of exceptional cultural heritage significance to the Shire of Gingin and the state of Western Australia. The National Trust classified it in 1978.
