About Ginginup
Ginginup is a rural locality in the Western Australia Wheat Belt region, located about 71 kilometres north of Perth in the Shire of Gingin. Named from the Aboriginal word Jinjinup, the Ginginup name predates the town of Gingin itself and derives from the Ginginup Station established by W.L. Brockman in 1841, one of the earliest European land grants in the area. The area was established as pastoral and grazing land in the 1840s and grew as a resting place for travellers heading north from Perth.
